Hello

It's my birthday next week... that's not a hint for well wishes and cake - although if you must ;) but since having a child - 2 if you count my small business - the celebration of ME has slipped to the bottom of my to list.

It's become a hassle rather than a celebration. Which is a bit sad. That is until I had a conversation with a few friends on the subject of celebration.  Not just celebration but the science of celebration!

Hear me out...

Celebrations create mental markers that allow the brain to organise and recall joyful moments. They enrich our cognitive landscape and give the brain meaningful reference points. So when the end is nigh, these celebrations will be what you remember - NOT how many emails you blasted out over a lifetime.

So this is my message to you. Throw yourself into the festive season, reframe and rename that ‘to-do list’ … All birthdays are big ones, simplify Christmas to the things that really matter, go out with your workmates.

In fact just get together generally and celebrate love, friendship and achievement.

Love, Calypso (Head of Everything)

Here are 8 ideas that I implement regularly to make sure I’m not just working in a vacuum at home with WhatsApp for company.
